Member Onboarding

The onboarding process for new team members joining a TekToro workspace.

When a new employee or contractor joins your TekToro workspace, they are guided through a structured onboarding wizard to collect essential information before they begin working.

Receiving an Invitation

New members are invited by an administrator or manager via email. The invitation includes a link to accept and join the workspace. Once accepted, the onboarding wizard begins automatically.

Onboarding Steps

The wizard walks new members through the following sections. Depending on the member type (employee or contractor), some steps may differ.

1. Personal Information

Enter your first name, last name, and contact details including phone number and address. If you signed in with Microsoft Azure SSO, your name is pre-populated from your corporate profile.

2. Profile Picture

Upload a profile picture, or allow TekToro to use the photo from your Azure SSO account if available.

3. Banking and Payment Details

Provide your banking information for payment processing, including bank name, account holder name, routing number, and account number. Contractors can also add cryptocurrency wallet addresses (BTC, ETH, USDC).

4. Job Details

Enter your position, department, employment type (full-time, part-time, contract, seasonal), weekly hours, rate type (hourly, salary, or fixed), and start date.

5. Contractor Settings (Contractors Only)

Contractors provide additional details specific to their business:

  • Company name and address
  • Tax ID and company logo
  • Invoice prefix and starting invoice number (used for automatic ticket and invoice numbering)
  • Payment terms (Due on Receipt, Net 15, Net 30, Net 45, or Net 60)
  • Client billing rate and internal project rate

6. Document Uploads

Upload required documents such as employment agreements, certifications, insurance certificates, and tax forms. These are stored securely and tracked for compliance purposes.

Completing Onboarding

Once all steps are completed, TekToro records your onboarding completion timestamp and redirects you to your workspace dashboard. You will not be asked to complete onboarding again.

Demo Mode

When your administrator has enabled demo mode, onboarding fields become optional and steps can be skipped. This is useful for testing and demonstration environments.
