Service Rates and Compliance
Managing client billing rates and compliance requirements.
TekToro allows you to define billing rates and compliance standards for each client, ensuring accurate invoicing and regulatory tracking.
Service Rates
Service rates are position-based billing rates assigned to individual clients. They determine how work is priced when generating client invoices.
Adding Rates
From the client creation or edit form (Step 3: Service Rates), you can add rate entries:
- Position name — the role or title being billed (e.g., "Senior Engineer", "Project Manager", "Field Technician")
- Regular rate — the standard hourly rate for this position
- Overtime rate — an optional rate for overtime hours
You can add as many rate entries as needed and remove them at any time.
How Rates Connect to Invoicing
When administrators generate client invoices from approved work tickets, they can apply client service rates instead of (or in addition to) contractor cost markups. The system calculates billable amounts by multiplying hours worked by the selected service rate for each line item.
For more details on markup strategies, see the Invoicing and Billing documentation.
Compliance Requirements
TekToro tracks regulatory and industry compliance standards at the client level, helping your team stay aware of each client's specific requirements.
Assigning Compliance Standards
During client creation (Step 2: Business Details) or when editing a client, you can select applicable compliance standards from your workspace's configured list. Examples include:
- ISO 9001 (Quality Management)
- EPA regulations (Environmental)
- OSHA (Occupational Safety)
- SOC 2 (Security and Availability)
- Industry-specific standards
Selected standards appear as tags on the client's profile and are visible in the Compliance tab of the client detail view.
Configuring Available Standards
Compliance standards are configured at the workspace level by administrators. This ensures consistency across all client records and allows your organization to define the specific standards relevant to your industry.
Industry and Service Type Configuration
TekToro supports workspace-level lookup tables for:
- Industries — classify clients by their industry sector (e.g., Manufacturing, Healthcare, Technology)
- Service types — categorize the primary type of service you provide to each client (e.g., Engineering, Consulting, Maintenance)
These categories are configured by administrators and are available as dropdown selections when creating or editing client records. They help organize your client base and provide useful context for reporting and filtering.
