Navigating the Platform

Understanding the TekToro interface, sidebar navigation, and role-based dashboards.

Once signed in, TekToro presents a sidebar-driven interface tailored to your role and permissions.

The left sidebar provides access to every major area of the platform:

  • Dashboard — Your role-specific home view with key metrics and quick actions.
  • Clients — Manage client records, contacts, and portal access.
  • Projects — Create and track projects, with sub-pages for the Projects Dashboard, Project Calendar, Tasks, and Kanban Board.
  • Invoicing — Submit tickets, manage master invoices, and view approved tickets.
  • Calendar — View and create events alongside task due dates and project milestones.
  • HR Management — Access the HR Dashboard, Team Members, Contracts, and Compliance Alerts.
  • Documents — Browse and upload files across all contexts.
  • Notes — Create, organize, and share notes with your team.
  • Members — Invite and manage team members, configure roles and permissions.
  • Settings — Update your team workspace name, logo, and account preferences.

The items visible in your sidebar depend on your role and permissions. For example, a basic team member may not see HR Management, while a client portal user sees only their relevant sections.

Role-Based Dashboards

Your dashboard is customized to your role and member type, surfacing the information most relevant to your work.

Client Portal Dashboard

  • Company profile and contact information
  • Outstanding invoices and payment status
  • Approved work tickets being billed
  • Active projects and progress
  • Upcoming calendar events

Contractor Dashboard (Basic)

  • Ticket KPIs (draft, pending, approved, rejected counts)
  • Hours summary with period-over-period comparison
  • Outstanding pay (unpaid invoice totals)
  • Compliance status and onboarding progress
  • Activity feed with recent ticket updates
  • Quick actions: create ticket, view invoices, upload documents

Manager Dashboard

  • Approval queue with pending tickets and invoices
  • Master invoice status overview
  • Project workload distribution across the team
  • Team productivity metrics

Administrator Dashboard

  • Financial summary (total invoiced, paid, outstanding)
  • Contractors overview with team metrics
  • Compliance overview across all members
  • Master invoice generator for quick invoice creation

Additional Interface Elements

  • Notification bell — Located in the header, displays a red badge with your unread notification count. Click to open the notification center.
  • Theme toggle — Switch between light and dark mode from the header (when enabled by your administrator).
  • Workspace switcher — If you belong to multiple team workspaces, you can switch between them from the sidebar.
