Notifications
Real-time notifications and email alerts in TekToro.
TekToro keeps you informed about important events through a combination of real-time in-app notifications and email alerts.
Notification Center
Access the notification center by clicking the bell icon in the platform header. A red badge shows your unread notification count.
The notification popover displays up to ten of your most recent notifications. Each notification shows:
- Icon — color-coded by type: blue for informational, yellow for warnings, red for errors
- Message — a description of what happened
- Time — how long ago the event occurred (e.g., "5 minutes ago", "2 hours ago")
- Link — click the notification to navigate directly to the related item
To dismiss a notification, click the X button on it. When you have no notifications, the center shows a "No notifications" message.
Real-Time Alerts
Notifications are delivered in real time using live database subscriptions. When an event occurs — such as an invoice being approved or a task being assigned to you — the notification appears instantly in the bell icon without requiring a page refresh. A toast alert briefly appears to draw your attention to the new notification.
Events That Trigger Notifications
TekToro generates notifications for events across the platform:
Invoicing
- Contractor master invoice approved
- Contractor master invoice rejected
- Contractor master invoice marked as paid
- Contractor master invoice submitted for review
Projects and Tasks
- Added as a member to a project
- Task created in your project
- Task assignment changes
Notes
- A note has been shared with you
Tickets
- Tickets submitted for approval
- Tickets approved or rejected
Email Notifications
In addition to in-app notifications, TekToro sends email alerts for important events. Email notifications include:
- Project digests — summaries of project activity
- Task assignments — notifications when you are assigned to a task
- Note shares — alerts when someone shares a note with you
- Ticket approval digests — summaries of tickets awaiting your approval
- Invoice status changes — emails when invoices are approved, rejected, or paid
Email notifications use digest consolidation — related events are grouped together to reduce inbox clutter rather than sending a separate email for each event.
Notification Lifecycle
- Notifications are created when events occur and delivered in real time
- Each notification has an expiration time — after which it is automatically removed
- Dismissed notifications are permanently removed from your notification center
- Clicking a notification's link takes you directly to the relevant page or item
